Youth hostel is a membership system accommodation. You can stay safe and at a low price. ( In Nagai YH, you can stay at a same price as members even if you do not have memberships. )
YH is also an institution for social education and if you have a purpose of travel, training course, meeting, school camp, exchange program, etc. YH will meet your expectations.
YHs differ from Hostels. For example we do not prepare toothbrushes, towels, pajamas in the room and most of rooms are shared by people sex separated because we would like you to stay at a low price and have good experiences with that.
We also offer you to keep your room tidy during your stay.

About House rules
YH has particular rules. Not only it is possible to stay at a low price, but also have on communal life that purpose of cultivate young people. Please understand our rules in advance of a visit.
We have a lot of common facilities in YH, for example shared rooms, public bathes, a common kitchen, therefore every guest is expected to concern about other people because everyone is a kind of living together.

How YH began?
Richard Schirrmann, a German primary school teacher, hit upon fundamental ideas of YH when he took his pupils hiking in 1909. In 1912, he founded the first YH at Altena Castle in the Ruhr industrial area.

About Osaka Nagai Youth Hostel.
Nagai Youth Hostel was opened in 1970 when the Universal Exposition ’70 ( World Fair ’70 ) was held in Osaka as an accommodation for the young. In 1996 our YH was re-opened for the Nagai sports competiton’97 in Osaka.
We are located on the 3rd floor in Nagai Stadium that was one of the stadiums of 2002 FIFA World Cup and 2007 World Championship In Athletic was held in.
